Our Procedures
Anyone exhibiting signs of illness (cough, congestion, etc) will be asked to reschedule. Patients are to come alone to his/her appointment. Minors may have one parent/guardian accompany them. Disabled patients may have one adult accompany them.
About Dr. Johnson
Dr. Johnson was born and raised in Kentucky. After graduating first in her class from Bourbon County High School, she graduated from the University of Tennessee where she was the recipient of several academic scholarships. She was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority including being her chapter’s Membership Chairman and Vice President. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with the University of Tennessee’s highest honors.
Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where she was honored with the university’s academic excellence scholarship as well as early admission into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree with the college of medicine’s highest honors.
Dr. Johnson performed her internship and residency at the Medical University of South Carolina; she was chief resident her final year of training. She practiced in Asheville, NC for a year, but realized she wanted to be closer to family, so she moved to Alabama. She was in private practice in Ozark, AL before moving her practice to Dothan, AL, first at Southeast Alabama Medical Center and then at 500 Healthwest Dr. She became the sole dermatologist at Dermatology Center South in March 2015. She returned to private practice at 1733 West Main Street in July 2020.
She has been board certified since 1993. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Alabama Dermatology Society. She is married to Taylor Flowers and has one child, a son, Caleb. She is a life-long Episcopalian and an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Nativity.
Dr. Johnson is in solo practice. She does not employ nurse practitioners or physician assistants, so patients will always see the doctor. Dr. Johnson’s focus is medical dermatology. She does not perform cosmetic procedures such as laser or Botox. Dr. Johnson prescribes Accutane (Isotretinoin) and is an IPledge provider. She can diagnose and manage rashes. She performs skin checks, biopsies, mole removal, skin tag removal, wart treatment, precancer and skin cancer treatment. She provides injections for specific types of hair loss and scars. She does not diagnose or treat any problems in the genital or anal area.
